Can I get both a certificate(s) & a degree?
Yes. Once you have completed the courses for a certificate complete the necessary paperwork and submit it to the graduation office. To earn your degree, all you have to do is complete your general education classes and any other classes required for the degree.
Can I use the same class for multiple certificates?
Yes. There are a variety of management certificates available. Once you complete a course you can use it for all of the certificates. Check the requirements as you may only need one additional course to earn another certificate.
What benefits come with getting a certificate?
Earning a certificate looks great on your resume. It tells potential employers that you have followed a path of study and have expertise in a certain area. It may not be an AA degree, but it’s better than nothing.
Do the Management Classes transfer?
Yes. The classes all transfer as elective units.
If I’m planning to transfer, should I just wait to take Management at the university?
You could. But what if you decide you don’t like marketing when you get there? Why not take a class, get a certificate or degree at SAC – learn from professionals, get an internship or part-time job and check things out before you invest 4 years in a field you may not like. Besides…you can’t beat the price!
How do I know when I’m done?
During the semester that you are enrolled in the final class required for the certificate or degree, complete your graduation documentation and turn it to the graduation office ON TIME. Watch for notifications on the bulletin boards, on-line and in your classes. If you have questions, make an appointment to speak with Prof. Doolittle or Prof. Grant.
